Privacy policy

DinnerTable is made by Serser Software in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what DinnerTable collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions: dinnertable.team@yahoo.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, to send you a sign-in code.
- Your name and, if you add one, a profile photo, shown to people in your groups.
- The photos and captions you post, and which groups you post them to.
- Your groups: which groups you're in, who you invited or let in, and the group's time zone.
- Nudges, reports and blocks you send, so the app can work and so we can review reported content.
- A push notification token, if you turn on notifications, so we can tell you about nudges, join requests and when everyone has posted.
- How you use the app: which screens you open, actions like posting, creating a group or sending a nudge, and errors or crashes, along with your device model, iOS version and app version. We use this to find problems and make DinnerTable easier to use. It's tied to a random account ID, never to your email or name, and never includes your photos or captions.
We don't collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we don't show ads.
You can stop sharing usage data any time in Settings → Account → Share usage data.
Who can see your photos
Only members of the groups you choose when posting. For each day, a member can see the group's photos after they have posted their own, or once that month has ended. The app shows the last 7 days.
How we use it
Only to run DinnerTable: signing you in, showing your groups their photos, keeping streaks, sending the notifications you've turned on, handling reports, and understanding how the app is used so we can improve it. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Where it's stored
Data is stored with our hosting provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States. Photos are kept in private storage that can only be reached through the app by people allowed to see them. Push notifications are delivered through Expo and Apple. Usage data is processed by PostHog, our analytics provider, on servers in the United States; we don't store your location with it.
How long we keep it
We keep your photos while the group they were posted to exists. If you leave a group or are removed, the photos you already posted stay in that group's Memories.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account any time in Settings → Account → Delete my account. This deletes your sign-in account, email address, profile photo and notification token, and removes you from all your groups. Your name and the photos you already posted stay in your groups' Memories so your family keeps them. If you'd like those photos removed too, or your usage data deleted, email us and we'll delete them within 30 days.
Reporting and blocking
You can report any photo or block anyone from the app. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content and people who break our rules.
Children
DinnerTable is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by emailing dinnertable.team@yahoo.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app when the change matters.
